As far as where your speakers are located, remember that their installation should be aimed at balancing the sounds each time you open your head unit. The standards setup is having 2 at the back and 2 at front but some even put in tweeters to enhance the sounds even more.
Clarity is one thing but balancing is another. You simply have to distribute the sound evenly so that the music will properly be heard inside the car properly. Some people may want everything at the back but do remember, if that happens you will have to turn up the volume and people sitting at the back may be deafened by the loud noise of it.

As far as car audio is concerned, there is more towards getting the quality sounds than just turning the knob and putting the bass and the treble to their maximum capability. There are certain controls you have to address and most of the time, it will depend on which frequency you have chosen to make sure you get the right sound quality in your car.
Normally, car audio enthusiasts know how to mix the proper sounds and get the quality they are looking for. Not all people want a full bass sound setup. The best sounds today are made from clarity and only the gifted know how to tinker around with them today.

Loudness is one thing but clarity of sound is another. Installing subwoofers in cars is normally limited towards the teenagers who want to show off their sound setup to their friends and the people whom they drive by. But even the adults have their share of maintaining subwoofers just to make sure they retain the level of satisfaction as far as audio listening is concerned.
But today, subwoofers have slowly been disappearing. One reason for this is the number of outstanding quality speakers no longer need the support of the bass usually required from subwoofers in the olden day. But just to be sure, some people still use them but eventually give them up to make room for storage space and practicality.

There are two main types in the stereo universe namely Sound Quality and Sound Pressure Level.
Sound Quality refers to just that — a very linear response that’s not boomed and is very controlled, especially when listening to complex songs.
An SQ System generally uses a smaller woofer and requires a smaller enclosure. A sealed enclosure would typically work best for this application.
Sealed enclosures are also known as “Acoustic Suspension” enclosures. When a speaker is placed in a sealed enclosure, the pressure becomes trapped in the box and restricts the cone movement, so the air inside the enclosure acts as a spring. The smaller the enclosure, the more pressure is exerted against the cone under movement.
The real advantage is that they just consume less space, not to mention they’re easier to design and construct. Choosing a sealed enclosure will give you clean and accurate bass with good low-end extension.

These tricks don’t work perfectly all the time and probably won’t win any SQ competitions but, for a daily driver, they offer better imaging without hours of testing.
The build process is pretty simple and requires very little tools. If you have access to an air compressor, a DA sander and a die-grinder, they’ll be your best friend, and allow you to save time when shaping and sanding parts. If not, you can always do it the old-fashioned way and sand by hand. If you must hand sand, don’t wait until the body filler is fully cured. Instead, let it go the stage in which the filler is just beyond rubber. If you start your rough shaping now, the filler will roll-off quickly and easily, letting you get the shape you want faster and with less fatigue.
All these idea were loudly explained by team 4kas audio.

Before any actual mods can begin, the speakers should be imaged. This is a lengthy process that involves listening tests and aiming the speakers, but with a couple of shortcuts, the results can be pretty amazing. One of the best tricks for quick imaging is to aim the driver’s-side midrange at the passenger’s left ear and the passenger’s-side speaker, at the driver’s right ear. This will create a cross point in the center of the vehicle, equalizing the path lengths as much as possible without relocating the speakers. If you’re using components, try aiming the tweeter at the rearview mirror or a centered point 3-4′ in front of the passenger’s head. This creates a separation that allows both waves to hit the listener’s ears at nearly the same time.

Creating a quality audio system requires more than just good speakers. In order to create a well-balanced soundstage, the speakers need proper placement-not always an easy task when dealing with the tight spaces of modern cars. Many times audio teams relegate themselves to modifying the factory placements for better imaging. One way to do this is building new door panels, which is a pretty complicated endeavor. There are, however, more simple methods of achieving this goal.
Depending on the vehicle, there are options using factory panels or grilles. But for modern cars, they use the factory door speaker grilles as a base for their pods. By modifying the factory panels, they can change the directional imaging of the speakers, creating a well-balanced soundstage. The one above is a great sample of a modern cars’ speaker pod.
